Hello,
Hopefully by now you have read the Cited Success ebook and have seen how many people really do believe in having a passion for what they do. It seems to me that not enough people follow their passions. There really is no point in doing something you do not like to do, even if it brings the money in better. Life is short, you have to enjoy yourself!
Now, it seems to me that many people understand that they should be following their passion. But many do not know what their passion is, or have a wide range of passions. This is good! Today I am going to get you thinking about what possibilities there are. What do you love doing? Personally, I would always (and always will) say Helping People, Computing and Business. Which would be why I have chosen to Help people in Business and in life by running a blog (which uses computing)! Have you still got no idea what your passion is? If you timetabled your day, what (other than education or work) would you see the most of? Perhaps it is a sport or maybe visual/preforming art?
Hopefully you now have a general idea of what your passion may be. What you need to do is be more passionate about it, “put more logs on the fire” as some people would say. This can usually be gained simply by doing what you have chosen more often or differently.
So now you have your passion, it is time to start thinking about how you could use it in business. This is the bit that you need to come up with ideas for! The list really is endless, but I shall name a few. Really you need to play on your strengths and learn you weaknesses. Many people make blogs which are very useful for getting your feet wet in online business, but you need to take it seriously. Perhaps you could create a forum? Or a image gallery?
I said you need to take it serious. What I mean by this is that passion is a very strong motivation for success, so let it guide you! Do not start a business where the only goal is to make lots of money, you will not get far. Your desire to have fun doing what you are doing should be stronger than to make money, although that does not mean you can not make money as well as having fun. But very rarely does anyone get a chance to make money from day 1 so without the passion you may well get bored before the money starting coming in.
I could go on for hours talking about this, but that would probably just bore you. So I will end this now. But before you leave, what is your passion?
Thank you,
Shane
Well lets see, I have a few:
Gaming
Sport (Cricket primarily)
Electronics
Design
So I have plenty of options
Music, music is my passion.
I got a request, how do you keep yourself organised? (I want to see what you do daily to keep yourself organised)
Music is your passion, so I am very glad you are going into the music business! Organised? Hah!! Nah, I am much better than I was a few years ago. Obviously it is harder being under 18 as you do not have quite as much choice about what you do, it is up to your parents. But to be honest, I think it all comes down to planning and getting things done well before they are needed. This is actually the only post that was not finished over 24 hours in advance.
This is very good news! Always good to have a wide variety. But it does make be think… does having more things that you like to do mean there is less passion for each? Or do you believe that, like love, passion is infinite?
@Shane Hudson – I’m more passionate about Gaming and Cricket, but I’m still interested by electronics, and design is a thing I’m doing in my spare time to increase my abilities; so there’s a variety but it’s and organised variety
