Waking Up to a Winter Wonderland
Okay, sure, we only got about an inch of snow but it covered everything! Where I live in England we very rarely get snow, so whenever we do it is incredible to us. While I was waiting at the train station to get to college (which in fact I gave up on due to massive delays and being the last day of term we would not be learning anything anyway) I noticed that almost everybody had a smile on their face. Well, that is just not normal!
That is what gave me the idea for this sequel to Roland Millward’s fantastic post on how to smile.
1. Weather
As shown through the story above, uncommon weather is something people usually find very exciting and will smile. I have spoken to people who love going out in the rain because they rarely get any, that shows how big a difference there is between countries! I certainly cannot stand getting wet all the time. Even yesterday when there was a tiny bit of snow that did not even set, I was walking to the train station on my way back from college thinking “Wow, it is amazing how just a little bit of snow can make me smile so much!” And watching the children (of course I joined in too) playing in the snow today, it was really something special.

2. New Life
I am not sure if I can actually explain this point… if any of you can then please comment and I shall update the post… basically, new life is something that makes everybody smile. Be it a new-born baby, the first signs of spring or new pets, they all make people smile. Why? No idea! But it happens, I promise you.

3. Compliments
Another time that people always smile (or at least they usually do) is when they are complimented. This is one way that you can improve the day of people you meet. Sometimes people might be having a very bad day but just one compliment, even from a complete stranger, could cheer them up and perhaps even turn they day into a happy one. This is why whenever somebody compliments me, I make sure I compliment at least five people in return that day.
Remember, not only does receiving compliments cheer people up… so does giving them!
Of course the list goes on, which is why I left it this short. I would like you to comment with your own idea of when people always smile, or perhaps a story that relates to it. Do not leave it to the other readers, please share Your ideas!

My friend Jack got 8 inches of snow. School got canceled. I bet he's smiling too. :p
8 inches?! Nice. One thing I find funny is that people that have snow all the time (or any other type of weather) do not like it, but those that rarely have that weather love it!
Excellent post,
