An Interview with Jeremy J Ulmer

Hello,
Today I have the pleasure of sharing my interview with Jeremy J. Ulmer with you! Jeremy is an amazing person who has a personality that you will understand why I chose him to be the first interviewee. So, without further ado, here it is.

Could you please tell us who you are?
My name is Jeremy J. Ulmer and I am a professionally trained coach, business coach, sales coach and life coach. I currently reside in Chicago, IL. USA. I launched my Sales Coaching, Business Coaching, and Life Coaching business at the start of 2008. However, I had extensive experience in all of those areas prior to launching. I spent about a decade at two Global Fortune 500 companies and ranked as the #1 sales performer for 3 years at one of the organizations and 1 year at the other. I then joined a start up business and lead all sales and marketing efforts. I managed a large sales force there and then moved on to a coaching and consulting company. I lead the sales group there as well, and got a taste for coaching.

How, and why, did you start your career? What was your inspiration?
Once I had a taste of coaching, and how it can change both businesses and lives, I wanted to learn more about it. I started professional training at the top coaching institute in the world. I have always been able to connect with different types of people and motivate them from within, and I thought coaching might be a natural fit for me. Once I started training, I knew it was for me. Changing lives is my true passion, and gift.

When you began your career, what were your goals?
My goals are and were to help as many people as I can through professional coaching. Whether it is in regards to their business, sales, career, or life, I am totally fulfilled when I am coaching others to achieve breakthrough results. I am always looking for ways to help more people, whether it is in a group setting, or through one on one coaching.

At any point in your career, have you thought yourself or your company as a “failure” or had any major problems? If so how did you manage to get through this and what did you learn?
I never have thought of myself or my business as a failure. What I have learned as an entrepreneur is that there are highs and lows, and once you learn how the cycle will be and the patterns, you can learn to make it a very manageable, enjoyable, and a fulfilling process. I am a very positive person and choose to surround myself with positive people as well. I also ask for help from those around me and receive coaching myself, to be the best I can be.

As a Life Coach you must have many tips and exercises for people to practise, would you mind sharing a couple of these with us please?
Yes, as a Life Coach, Sale Coach, and Business Coach, there are many things I may do with my clients to help them get to where they want to be. It is highly customized, but what I can say is, for those new business owners and entrepreneurs out there, to give yourself time each and every day to reflect and relax. What I mean is, schedule the time, and don’t miss it. If it is 10 minutes of meditation a day, great, if it is Tai Chi, if it is a workout, whatever it is, do something for yourself, where you can rest and relax the mind. It makes life and so many things flow easier that way.

Have you personally had many of the experiences that your clients go through?
In some cases that may be possible, however, coaching is all about my clients, not me. The focus is all on them, and what will work best for them, and their own solutions. I often act as a “lightening rod” for their ideas. We create and design plans of action together. My clients are naturally creative and resourceful. All people are, it is just a matter of taping into that, and I help people to do that very effectively.

Have you any advice to give to those currently in the position you were in?
If you love it and it is your passion, do not give up. It is worth it.

What plans do you have for the future?
I want to impact the world with what I do. One person and one group at a time. But I want to continue to spread my positive energy and impact as far as I can.

Is there anything you would like to add?
Thank you for the opportunity to share these experiences. If anyone would like the best professional support to help translate their business, career, sales, or life goals into reality, please contact me.

Thank you Jeremy.
