  1. Buffering – A Review…of sorts!

After inadvertently being asked why I love Buffering Series so much, I started thinking. Why do I like watching this show? Well for those that have not yet heard of this show, where have you been?! Do you not read my interviews? ;-)

Well, Buffering is a digital series created by Mike Tobias and the rest of the initial cast which include Curt Mega (Glee), Stephanie Stuart, Eric Carroll, Matthew Zimmerman and Chase Edmondson. They are what could be called ‘undiscovered actors’. Most of them appear to have met or were in some way linked in Texas originally and moved to LA to chase their dreams. Whether due to fate or pure coincidence, they all met up in LA and eventually decided to make a web series whilst auditioning for other acting roles and working. (more…)

  2. Eric Carroll – Photographical Mayhem

Hermosa PierHave you ever taken a photo of something that looks absolutely beautiful but when you look at your captured image, you realise that you really are a terrible photographer? Well that is me! Time and time again, no matter what the image is, I am useless at photography!
I have not written about photographers or photography before because frankly it has never been an interest of mine but after seeing the pictures from Eric Carroll’s online shop  I feel that I need to share. You will see images from Eric’s shop within this post, if you click the image you will be whisked away to the shop where you can purchase or peruse at your leisure.
Eric is an amazing photographer; he captures the light and darkness in such an enthralling manner. You may also wish to peruse his Tumblr page where there are many more images that I am sure you could choose from, just contact Eric and he will be happy to help.

I could not help but wonder how people choose the image that they take. Eric told me ‘I take images that catch my eye the most, ones that I feel will never happen again. Clouds, sunsets, waves; we look at these things as ordinary, they happen every day, but I think they are riveting. Notably because they’re always evolving, I rarely see the same sunset twice’. I will soon be the proud owner of a few of his prints, how could I not be they are enchanting. I am not usually one for landscape pictures because I usually find them boring but the way Eric portrays them mesmerises me! It amazes me that Eric and I hypethetically could probably look at the same view from the same spot and see it so differently. (more…)

  3. Eric Carroll Interview – Bufferings Gunman

I have been truly blessed to speak to yet another actor Eric Carroll from the new web based series Buffering. For those of you whom have not yet seen it, I truly recommend watching it. The cast are adorable and very funny, the writing and ideas within the show are true genius.  I apologise in advance to you all as it appears that Eric and I were rather chatty which has produced a long interview. Actually, I am not sorry, scratch that, it was fun!

Hi Eric, please tell me a little about yourself.

I am from Garland, Texas originally. I started acting in high school theatre in an advanced class. I went to the University of North Texas for college, I studied film and communications. After 2 years I became a little disillusioned with film study and wanted to go back to acting. I auditioned for a musical called ‘Once Upon a Mattress’ and was cast. I’ve never looked back from that point. I did theatre in and around the Dallas Metroplex for years after.

What was it about film studies that disillusioned you?

The idea of directing film was intriguing to me at first but I found out that I’m more of an actor and needed to be in front of the camera.

It was in college that I met Mike Tobias (writer of Buffering) and Stephanie Stuart (Cindy) we all became good friends there. I made a crazy road trip out to Los Angeles during Spring Break of my senior year of college; one of those trips that would make a great movie someday. Anyway, while standing on the side of Mulholland Drive looking out at the city, I told myself that this is where I wanted to be and where I would live my life.

A couple of years later (and numerous trips back and forth) I moved out to Los Angeles.

Care to elaborate on your crazy road trip? (more…)
